In the world of fruit, banana is like a global superstar that everybody knows and loves.
Above all healthy, nutritive, convenient and tasty, banana is a favourite not only among people but also among some animals.

In fact, this special food is a favourite food for a special tropical bird – toucan (lat. Ramphastidae), which represents a completely separate bird species.

WHY “TOCO”

Our toucan is called TOCO (lat. Ramphastos toco) and lives in the tropical regions (Ecuador and Colombia) that have a tradition of growing bananas. Its impressive beak is about 23 cm long, like our premium class TOCO bananas.

Precisely because of the expertise we have and decades of experience in import, preservation, ripening processes and distribution – we have a clear vision of this special brand: to offer the best quality bananas, with strictly controlled designation of origin and the most optimal process of ripening and distribution to customers in the markets of B&H, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Greece and Romania.

ITS MAJESTY BANANA

There is no similar plant in the world. It is globally popular and eaten by the entire humankind. This is very important because banana is one of the healthiest plants in nature (contains vitamin B6 15%, potassium 10%, folic acid 12%, cellulose fibres 10%, vitamin C 10%, niacin 5%, magnesium 10%).

Banana (lat. Musa) is from the monocot genus of the banana family (Musaceae), which includes even 72 species. Although it was named only in 1753 by Carl Linnaeus, it has become irreplaceable fruit for no more than three centuries, and the number one plant of our planet.

The search for perfection in the field of fruit and vegetables dates back to 1992, when the owner of Bernina company in difficult circumstances established the company whose main activity is wholesale and import and export of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Our company gave particular attention to packaging of the complete range of products, and given that we had already been leading company in the region thanks to the direct import of fruits from producers all around the planet, it seemed logical that we could expect placements within the wider region and the European Union.
